We are still making progress on the 100 dollar SC. So far we have went through the wiring, Added a new alternator. Gave it a new Battery, and cleaned the starter to make it work. It has a new muffler, and two new hydraulic lines. I went through the Fuel system and cleaned everything. I power washed it and tried to make it look a little better.
I wired and added lights to it yesterday. We moved the wheels in and took the breaks apart and cleaned them. They were locking up when you pushed the breaks, they work great now. It starts and runs like a dream. The only thing that I don't like right now is the fast hitch lift. Even with the motor running it will lower by it's self. The lift has a LOT of power. I can put a block under the lift arms and it will lift the tractor off the wheels. Only thing is it will lower by it's self. Is the spool valve under the seat the problem? Should I get a rebuild kit for it? here is a before and after pic. Thanks Ron

The 12v system that was on it was in poor shape. The alternator was not working and the whole wiring system was wired wrong. I got the diagrams form a fellow here and changed the wiring to what it should be. Now it is a very good system. The tractor drives good, and the steering is pretty tight. George, the fast hitch will lower it's self with the motor on or off. I do have a slight leek on the cylinder that doesn't drip but is wet. I could see it bleeding off and lowering it with the motor off but I don't think it is enough to lower with the motor on. The hydraulics are STRONG. Ron

Running or not has nothing to do with it if it leaks off regardless. It doesn't maintain pressure to the lift unless you do it at the control valve. It could be the check valve, but I think it is more likely the cylinder or that leak. Mine doesn't drip either but will leak down fairly soon. If I jack mine up with the FH it leaks off in just a couple minutes or less.

I have one leak at one of the hoses going into the cylinder, the cylinder it's self does not leak out. But the leak that is the biggest is the valve at the pump. Neither one is leaking a lot but the touch valve is the worst. Do you think I will need to rebuild the touch valve? Thanks Ron

Ron the valve for the fast hitch is completly seperate from the touch control unit. It only attaches to it. I would start by stopping the leak at that hose and then see what you have, The cylinder wouldn't be leaking out where you could see it. It may be letting oil bypass from one direction to the other. When raised up the bottom of cylinder is full of oil. If the piston is leaking it would let oil leak past it into the top of the cylinder, thus letting it down. I suspect stopping the laek at the valve and hose will cur your problem. There is a kit available for the valve.

Does it lower when not running? The hydraulic cylinder may be bleeding back. I would think it has to be leaking or bleeding back. Mine leaks off going down. It has a small leak at the hose fitting.

Sounds like good progress so far. Looks like it's been converted to 12 volts... is it a decent conversion?

How does it drive with the single front wheel? Our C has a wide front and drives nice, but steers a little tougher than our narrow front tractors...

One thing I've read several times about the disc brakes is to put a little bit of grease on the steel ball part to make them work better. Keep up the good work!
