I have a IH 684. The brakes stopped working and at the same time the power steering become less responsive, especially in quick turns. I know it sound like a fluid issue. I have topped off the fluid, changed the filter near the left rear axle and cleaned the small filter in the hose near the battery. Any help would be appreciated as I'm out of ideas.

I had the same problems with mine. The emergency brake was left on and opperated, the material from the brake went to the hydraulic pick up screen and clogged it.Paid 900 to fix the problem.Has worked well untill last week when the wife was helping move roundbales. While driving to the other farm, she accidently left the brake on.

Where is the hydraulic pickup screen? Wonder how hard it is to access?

I believe you have to remove the seat and then the rockshaft assembley to get inside and clean it out.
