I want to find out where did they mount a hand crank on an "H" when it was not in use. I don"t want to leave it mounted on the front just in case I snag something with it. So looking to find out where there was possibly a dealership mounting site, or where a logical spot would be....

thanks,
scott.

Hi, From the left side lay it flat behind the pulley housing, my dad's 42 H came without starter or lights, it's crank has always been there never lost. Good Luck, Chuck

Here's another option for stowing your crank.

On the right hand side of the frame since 1945. Turned the opposite way from the picture though.

I put mine on the deck, under the seat. Tie it down with a tarp strap.

If I remember correctly there is room on the right side of the tractor to wedge the crank in between the engine and the frame rail. Ours stayed there for years without ever bouncing out.

Hello,
Mine is mounted in a rack on top of the rear axle next to the operators deck. It is out of the way and convenient to get to.
