Hey guys. I got the M put back together tonight and it ran for about 2 minutes and died like someone turned the key off. The oil pressure was good. I went to make sure the fuel was on and it was. I tried to turn it over again and noticed that fuel was coming from the bottom of the carb. I shut the fuel off, and unhooked the fuel line. I took the air cleaner hose off as well and found a small amount of fuel in there as well. I did not hook anything back up, but turned it over and noticed fuel dripping from the carb. again. Where did the fuel come from without the fuel line being hooked up? How big of a problem do I have? Thanks for the help.

I had a similar problem with my 300, flooding out etc. I rebuilt the carb twice, replaced the float, and it still gave me fits. Plling the bowl of one more time, [grrr] I happened to notice a little side play on the float pivot. Pressed the bracket together, presto problem fixed

Did you check for spark at spark plugs? You may have a carburetor problem but its normal for unburned fuel to drip from carburetor when engine is run for a short time and shut off or cranked. When you had fuel line loose there was probably still fuel in carburetor bowl and it was sucked up into manifold when cranking and droped back into the suction side of carburetor when you stoped cranking. If it died like the switch was turned off it may have quit fireing.

Either you choked it to death, or the float in the carb isnt set right or hanging up.

Did you properly adjust the adjusting screws in the carb?

Andy,
I didn't rebuild the carb. I just stuck her back on. Do you think that its just getting way to much fuel and drowning itself out?

Also make sure the float level is set correctly.

I'd check the carb, the needle might be stuck down so it just keeps flooding the bowl and air cleaner with fuel.
