The information I found when I was researching this a few months ago is as follows.

1107067 number was used on ser #'s 25001 to 305645

1107093 was used on ser # 305646 and up.

I also found a referance to other numbers used:
1107067 - years 48 to 53
1107021 - years 48 to 53
1107093 - years 52 to 54

On the other set of numbers and the letter in the middle it is a follows:

First digit is year.
Second is month in letter code.
Last is day of month.

Letter code A thru M. No "I" was used.

The 100501 is one digit short of the Delco-Remy part numbers (as opposed to the IH number) for the starters on either of my Farmalls, a '47 BN and a '51 SuperC. They both start with 100 or 101, but are seven digits. Still I'd hazard a guess that it's the Selco #.

That said, the OM28 soesn't seem just like a serial number, which would logically be the other number.

Your handle says "in Aussie". Are you down under? I supppose it's pssible that there was a different supplier or at least a different designation for parts shipped for assembly overseas. So it could be that OM28 is the part # and the other the serial.

I started out tryin' to help, but I'm gettin dangerously close to gettin' confused myself now.

Delco "convention" is that the first # is the part number, and the second 4-digit # is a sort of date code.

In the US, typical Delco starter numbers for those tractors would be 1107067 or 1107093. don't know if they would have used a different numbering system for you guys.
