so we are restoring a farmall M with a 9 speed trany. we ,looked in the gas tank to decide if we should pressure wash it with scorching hot water. i don't know if we need to. the inside of the tank is mostly still shiny but there is a little surface rust on the lower part(where the sediment bulb screws in) should we wash it or leave it be and let the gas swishing around clean it up better?
TIA

If it isn't broke, don't try to fix it. The minimal rust you have will not cause a problem.

I dont know if I would .. I tried this with a cub we have and it took a long time to stop getting water out of the tank, we had dry gas and everything in it, I think there where baffles or something that kept trapping the water,, may be totally different with an M

New screen and gasket from NAPA is only 2.00 then i like to use short rubber hose and the see thru filters from FRAM about 2.50 for a while till things clear up then you can run the solid line from sediment bulb to the carb sometimes it takes a while till all the fine stuff clears up thats why i like the see thru ones.
