well today I went to an auction and bought a 39 H to add to my collection. I wanted one to go with my 39 M and 39 F-20. It it kinda poor shape, original engine but locked, newer style pto, hood is fair grill is shot and tires are shot. All the numbers match. going to take a while to get her going but will fit in nice in my collection....now to get a 39 F-30, 39 F-14, and a 39 A to complete my collection of 1939 row crop tractor's....if only money grew on trees

I thought they stopped making the F series in '38 when the H and M came out. Have I been wrong all this time?

Mike CA, F-12's were from '32-'38, no '39. The F-14's were only made in '38-'39. '39 F-14's exist. F-20's were made from '32-'39. F-30's were made from'31-'39.

The H and M did not come out in '38, they came out in '39. The H lasted until '53, and the M lasted until '52. Don't feel bad, Ive been wrong many times. I might even have a number or 2 wrong here. Doug N

I have 39 F14. If I recall correctly, someone on here had a 20 built in 1940 from left over parts still "on the shelf".

Have to check with Guy Fay- Wisconsin historical has IHC papers. Some references to IHC starting new models about last 1/3 of year, and not naming as model year but by serial number break around January manufacture but previous made tractors in december would still be shipped and sold next year.1939 could have made last of F series until sometime in September when letter series started. '1939' F20 in photos with 2 brake pedals on right, no hand brake -possible. RN

with the reserch I have done so far I found out the F-20's ended the main production run about april 25, 1939. The M's and H's started production about July 15. The casting codes on my M sn 529 has casting codes of 7-10-I.
