Got a question about carburetor on 1953 Farmall H.

I took it off and it was very clean, but I soaked it in cleaner anyway. Of course it is very simplistic, but there is one very long needle valve extension (at least that's what I think it is} which was virtually broken in half...the top half was just floating around. I imagine someone once tightened it too much and it sheared. Nevertheless, the tractor was running well until it started sputtering and I have been trying to start it ever since. Have replaced all ignition parts, new battery cable, new coil, etc etc.

But question is really what the heck is this long adjustment stalk and what does it adjust. If is just idle port, I'll leave it alone. Any ideas?

By the way, II am also looking for a rear mower bush wacker type which I can hook directly to the PTO as this tractor does NOT have a three poiht hitch. Does anyone know where I can get one??

Thanks.

sounds like the main load jet. you can get the parts from your nearest dealer. or some of the guys here may have the parts you need. this website may also have the parts too. as far as a mower, you can get a pull type from king kutter, they make em from 4 ft to 7 ft. they are pull type bush hog mowers. pretty decent mowers for the price. if you wanted to add a 3 point hitch to the h, check out saginaw county tractor parts in michigan, they make a dandy 3 point hitch for the h, around 650 -700. real nice hitch.
