My 560 has double bevel rims...
When I bought it it had a rim and tire replaced...
Since using it I noticed the rim clamps spin on the rim about an inch back and forth and the clamps seem worn....other rim is fine...

Are the clamps too worn? wrong configuration??

I have been using it baling but need to get it fixed before more heavy work....

Does the IH dealer stock these??

The archives listed a little info but I need more help
Thanks

Case-I.H. dealer should stock clamps and bolts&nuts or can order them. I ordered some for an M awhile back but they are different. Also do not use lock-washers because on axel clamps or rim clamps because they can BREAK and than you have LOOSEBOLT and same problem. Just TIGHTEN with wrench and be sure to check as i suggested in last post. Armand

Relocate clamps(wedges) to where they belong and see if they will tighten up; mabey use new bolts before buying new wedges(clamps): use long breaker-bar if needed. To my knowledge all clamps are the same. If you have to move to the next bevel-ring you may have to move cast rim on axel to get propel wheel spacing for plowing or whatever. Retighten all nuts and/or bolts after 4 hours of use and a couple more times for the first week, even on the good wheel. Also when you tighten the clamps after moving them be sure wheel runs true(straight) as you tighten them otherwise wheel may wobble. Also retighen as soon as you hear clunking noise in future. I stopped and looked better since the tractor is at the other farm....

The good original side has 4 clamps on 4 lugs...and the rest just on the bevel....

it seems they are worn on the one rim from being put on wrong??
worst case I would have to move rims/wheels to the other bevel and still get close to the right width for plowing....

I may try new clamps first....is there one set for on the bumps and different ones for just the bevel...

thanks for the replies...
Dave

Armando has it right. On all the double-bevel rims I've seen, there are four bumps on each bevel. At least one clamp should be located on one of these bumps.

On each of those bevel rings is supposed to be at least one raised dimple that one of the clamp lugs would straddle to prevent that movement that you are talking about. Check to be sure that one of the lugs is in that spot so it can't move. Worse case is that the lugs have moved enough to ware so you can't tighten them and will have to be replaced. Armand
