Hi All, Quick question: On my '53 Super A - 6 volt, the positive was connected to the trans. casing - grounded, and the neg -> starter? sorry forgot to look further. Just thought it was strange the pos was connected where on my MF35 12 volt the neg is grounded - like a car. Is that right? I figure it was since the tractor runs fine but thought was strange.
thanks,
Kurt

Not so strange, but good observation and question. Lots of old tractors used positive ground.

Farmalls were positive ground for years. It is not abnormal. Many tractors re changed to 12 volt negative ground but the 6 volt positive graoud is normal

All brands of tractor, other then maybe one or 2 brands up till the mid 50s early 60s where + ground system, even cars and trucks where that way till around the same point in time.
