The guy I bought my 1955 200 form is trying to

Thanks guys,
You never really see to many of the old IH tractors around here, but every now and then one
pops up . I think Ill visit the Heritage Days
tractor show to see if one is there.
I was thinking that the 230 was in the progression
of c sc 200 230 240 etc.
Again I have to thank you all for your help .
Thank you Harry

Harry, if you plan on ever putting a cultivator on it , they do require a lift mechanism that mounts under the gas tank, since it has no touch control lift box. It operates directly off the fast hitch rock shaft. With it all front mount C/SC/200 implements will fit it. I think I have the one that went to dads tractor around here somewhere. Good luck.

Harry, it is basicly just like the 200. The biggest difference is the 230 doesn't have the touch control hydraulic box under the gas tank like the 200 or C/Super C does. It has what IH called the hydra-touch system. It should have the traction control fast hitch on it. I like the older set up better myself, but there is nothing wrong with the 230. Dad had one that he traded off to a new 484 in 1981 and I would love to find it and buy it back. It was a real little tractor. If it is a 58 it is one of the last ones made. I think there was only around 750 made that year.
