The spring that came from the Case dealer & the spring that broke on the rockshaft arm, that connects to the governor control rod are kinda different. The new one is wider & the hooks on top won't allow me to fit it over the rockshaft casting. Is there a different spring I can use, or do I have to grind the lobe down on the casting? I'd rather not have to make any modifications if unwaranted. It's a '47, by the way.

Gene, the new spring is about an eigth inch larger in diameter than the broken one. The hooked ends of the spring have about an eigth inch gap to hook into the castings that are almost twice as thick.
