Does anyone know where to purchase just the inner part of a tachometer cable for an Intl. 484 diesel?

My local dealer wants $65 for the entire assembly when all I need is the center wire part with square shaped ends.

Thanks

Thanks Georgeky and John Paul - the $24 is about what I paid from the folks who's email address I posted.

Certainly much better than paying the Case/IH dealer.

Car tachometer cable works too BTW. Square on BOTH ends if you get a manual Toyota celica or supra cable (had both cars and tore dashes of both to rewire so I know LOL). One trip to junkyard and $5 will get you the part.

I bought a new one for my 350 diesel from Marshalls tractor parts for 23 dollars. Worth a try. 1-888-824-0544

Bob:

I used to see speedometer cable kits at auto parts stores like NAPA. One end of the cable was square already. You had to cut the cable to length (not the easiest thing in the world) and install a (provided) square fitting on the other end. Maybe this will work for you.

Often, heavy truck shops are able to make up tach and speedo cables from "scratch".

Thanks a bunch Bob - I'll make some phone calls to local truck places.
