I have a 51 H. I need to recharge the 6 volt on it- I think that a recharge will do, if not then I'll replace it. I think I have heard that you are NOT suppossed to put the lines from the charger to the battery when it is connected to the tractor? There are two bolts behind the steering wheel +/- do I hook one line to one of these bolts? Where does the other line go? OR can I just go ahead and hook the lines to the battery, connected to the tractor like I would a car? Thanks.

No need to disconnect the battery while charging!

Least chance for error is to remove the battery box cover then connect the charger clips directly at the battery. Simply stick the charger "+" clip to the battery "+" terminal clamp; Likewise the charger "-" clip to the "-" terminal.

This way you do not need to concern yourself with whether the battery is connected positive or neg ground...
