I am looking for the shutoff under the clutch housing, but can't find it. Where exactly is the clutch housing. Not to hijack, but my PTO only turns slow and I can hold onto it and it stops. I have done the adjustment per the book and no difference.

Have you checked the oil level in the PTO unit. This is separate from the transmission oil.

Is this a planetary style PTO? I do not know when the change was made to the over center clutch style, but it is not unusal for the planetary style to make more noise when off than while engaged. The noise comes from the planetary gears still turning while shut off. This is one reason for the seasonal disconnect under the clutch housing.

I don't know what is doing it, but one of my Super A's is doing the exact same thing. If I push further and hold(toward "off") on the pto lever, it won't make the noise - it is as if it is not going far enough into "off". But, as soon as I stop holding/pushing it, it starts again. Somebody said it won't hurt anything, but I don't like it. mike

Is this live pto?? It could just need an adjustment. Adjust according to the manual. It's quite a simple process
