I am about to bite the bullet and put new rubber on my W-30. What size should I buy? I was thinking about 13.6 x 28 on rear and 6.50 x 16 on the front. How would this look?

Be carefull about too wide of tire on the front. There's not too much room to thread a belt between the engine and tire.

Learned the hard way & notched one of my tires while playing on the Baker fan one day.

In 1935 catalog, 4 1/2 x 30 front and 12 x 42 rear steel was standard; and 11.25 x 28 rubber was available. This size evolved to 11 x 28 and finally to 12.6 x 28 modern size. The catalog also shows front size rubber available as 6:00 x 20.

11.25 x 28 evolved to 11 x 28 then finally 12.4 x 28 (rather than 12.6 as I stated).

It depends on whether you want it to look like factory, or follow the later (letter series) measurement which was rims about 1 inch less than the TREAD WIDTH of the tire. 13.6 = 12 inch tread width=11 inch rim. The F and likely also the W series had tires mounted on narrow rims, in other words the tread was curved instead of nearly flat, BUT, I am not the expert on the F and W series.
