A fellow here has a very nice original 37 baler that has been freshly painted and straight. Has not been used in 10 years but all hay was removed from the chamber and is complete. Wants me to make an offer for it. How much do these things go for in good working condition and which tractor would look and be correct in front of it? I have a 300,350,400,and 450 all Farmalls. Thanks

Whichever one will pull it to the dump!
Had a 37 whenever the knotters would tie a bale the thrower would be sure to burn through the twine. More than one wrench hit the ground workin on that thing. The NH 276 was much more reliable.
BUT WITH A NAME LIKE MIGRAINE MAYBE A GOOD FIT.

I just finished off about 350 bales this am. And I used the 966. It's great to have the TA, the live PTO, and the weight so you aren't being shaken to death. Use the 450! Here in SD you can get a goo NH 273/275 twine baler for about 1400 dollars. I wouldn't go anything older or less modern than that. They are a cranky contraption when new! I've read the operators manual cover to cover about 10 times and I'm still learning new ways for the 275 to aggravate me.

having ran a 37 baler for 25-30 years i feel that the biggest tractor you have does the best. you can run smaller but to me the bigger the better. we have used an h, m, 560 & 966 on our 37. the 966 does the best. good luck!

Migraine, I think that 3 to 500 is the very most it would bring around here, if in good condition. Any of those tractors will do nicely. Before I tore it down I used my 350 diesel to do almost all of my baling with. Worked great. I pull a IH 430 All-Twine baler with it.
