the pins on the levers on the rocker arm on my super c have worn unevenly and they are worn into a cup or slanted profile where the contact the valve stem. Should I not worry about it or should the pins be replaced or flattened with a file?

Thanks in advance.

Mark D.

I take the whole assembly apart & resurface them on my valve grinding machine. It makes setting the clearance a lot easier.

Worn adjusters (pins) need to be hard on the end, and slightly crowned (rounded). New or good used are best. Using a worn one will accellerate stem wear, and change adjustment rapidly. Dressing them can be a temporary fix, but it may be through the case hardness, and is (opinion) not the best policy. Good luck, JimN

Since these are pressed into the rocker arm, is this something I can replace myself, or should I just take it to a machine shop and let them handle it?

Thanks!

If you have the specialty grinder to rework the surface do it. The machine shop can do it well. Be sure the hardness is still there. JimN
