Hello!
Does anyone know if these engines will mount in place of each other...These engines were used in 2400A's ,2500A's, 454's, 544's 674's etc...they are all sleeveless engines with I believe a british ancestry...I have a 2400A with a C157 with a ventilated block and I found a C200 that I would buy if I could swap it in without too much troubles....Thank You!

The engines are of the same family as the C221, C263, C291 & C301 6 cyl. gas engines. You may have to change the front cover and the plate behind the cam gear. The flywheel and rear plate will bolt up.

Galen,
There was a C175 in the 350 tractors from the mid fifties era. That engine was a descendant of the C152 engines used in the H & W4 tractors.
The C157,C175,& C200 family of engines that you are talking about are a newer US built family based on being 2/3 of the C221,C263 & C301 6 cylinder engines.
The C157 was used in the US assembled 2400A and 454 gas tractors, the C175 was in the 2400B & 464 gas tractors and the C200 was used in the 2500 & 574 gas tractors. To the best of my knowledge, they will interchange. The C175 & C200 both have engine balancers (The C157 did not) and they run a lot smoother than the C157.

As George says the C175 was the last in the H/SH/300/350 series of 4 cylinder engines. However, the 454 had either a C175 or C157, I do not think the C175's are the same. The C200 was in the Farmall 544, I do not think it has British orgin, not sure. So, this probably did not help much. Info from Ken Updike's data book -- perhaps he or Guy Fay will read this.

CNKS, I wondered about the 175,s after I posted. I do seem to remember a 175 in something else. I would also think there must have been two different ones.

I don't know about the C157 or C200, but a C175 is not British. My old junk Farmall 350 has a C-175 in it. It was built here in the states.
