Is there any way by serial # that you can track the original selling point of a new tractor? I have a 53 SH and I have a pretty good idea of who sold it when it was new but I was wondering if it can be verified by ser. # from IH archives? thanks dtk.

I don't know if the records of where each serial number went even exist anymore. Guy would be the best on to know he searched thru the archives in wi. I would bet those records were destroyed when it was ordered by the new owners that they destroy the paperwork from the fallen I.H. They might of wanted to destroy records as they cost money to keep around or more likely to distant themselves from liability. Who knows what kind of papers were destroyed. But i bet some of the relitives of previous i.h. dealerships and office workers have some records in there attic or black books. It was really a shame that I.H din't listen to there custmers and had to fall. You would of though they could of went bankrupt like the airlines have. I wish it could of been diffrent.
