I mean the whole assembly that is bolted on the transmission that the drive shaft from the clutch couples to .THANKS

That is called the "Main driving shaft" and has two gears cut into it. The transmission "Main shaft" is straight behind that and has the splins for the sliding gears. The one at the bottom is the "Transmission counter shaft".

You might want to have a look in the I&T manual (IH-8). See paragraphs 197 and 270, fig. IH439. You can get an I&T manual at your IH dealer or just about any place that sells tractor parts.

OK GOT YA! yes you can get it out drop belly pump take the round shaft loose and out of the way. cant remember 4 or 5 bolts the whole thing will come out
