OK guys, what is the largest reccomended bushog/cutter size that would be suitable for an M and not be too stressful for the engine?

I have one of those 5' Servis mowers for my 100 and it takes like forever to cut my 23 acres.
It'd be cool if I could go with a 10' or maybe bigger. I actually have enough extra gearboxes and steel stock that I could possibly homebuild my own unit but I really don't know what would be too much?

These are regular M's but I'm rebuilding them with 4" overbore kits. I want to try and build them up to Super M specs but aren't sure which kit from here I should get.

I have a 7 foot Allis PTO driven pull type mower I use with my M... 2nd or 3rd gear depends on what I am cutting and when I sharpened blades last... Not an issue of power but more of cutting cleanly.

If you have 23 acres of land that is open, seems it ought to be in some sort of sellable ag product. Bet you could rent it out to nearby farmer too.

If you are cutting tall heavy grass 7 foot will be plenty. Anything over 10 feet will be VERY dangerous on slopes.

In most places 2nd. In some on flat smooth ground and not real thick it will pull it in 3rd. If in real thick grass that should be cut for hay 1st. I have pulled this mower for 20 years with M's. I have mowed locust thickets and thick blackberry briars. And cleaned up 3 or 4 farms with this very outfit. I know an old man in Winchester, KY that pulls 20 foot Woods mowers his M's on flat ground mostly, to clip pastures with. I mow lots of hills and can not pull a 20 footer on them. It will handle that mower as good as my 7610 Ford will, with the exception of power in thick grass.

Thanks a bunch. My acreage is mostly flat so it shouldn't be bad. I can use the 100 to get back in the treeline and sloped areas.
