I HAVE ABOUT 1/4 TURN PLAY IN WHEEL ALL THE SAFTS SEEM TO BE TITE I AM BEGAINING TO THINK THE GEARS ARE WORN OUT. I GUESS THATS THE NEXT THING TO TRY TO FIX I HAVE REBUILT TRACTOR REPAINTED LOOKS GOOD SO WORTH FIXING

Up front, turn the wheel in a direction, L or R until the wheels start turning. Then, take a piece of masking tape and put it around the shaft up front right up against the edge of the hole where the shaft enters the gear box. Then turn the wheel the other way till it starts turning the wheels...you can then determine whether the shaft is going in and out rather than some other problem. If it is in fact moving in and out, as suggested below, you can get a washer spacer, start with thin and move to thicker, and put inside the nut and tighten it up till you get the play out of it...make sure it has plenty of grease.

Hi, on mine it was the worm gear that was playing back and forth in the housing. If i remember correctly, i put some washers between the big pipe plug and the bearing hope this help
