The pickup drive sprocket ( IDLER, pickup drive, front ) was in a bind. My question is, does the sproket go between the chain pushing down on bottom part of chain or beneath both? It was beneath cocked at an angle binding the chain. The manual does not give a good pic like the main drive configuration (chain).
Thanks
Cory

Hi Cory,

Are you refering to pictures in the Operator's Manual? Both chain drives are shown in it.

I'm not sure which chain drive you are talking about. From the pics in the book, if you are talking about the drive for the auger, then it shows the tensioner on top of the top chain. If you mean the drive for the pickup cylinder, then the tensioner goes under the bottom chain.

My used 46 broke the first time I used it so have been looking at pictures and waiting on parts. Just got the parts in and now need to try to remember where everything goes.

Larry

Recently purchased two manuals. One is the operators (reprint) and only saw the main pickup. My picture shows the tensioner on top of the top part of the chain. The smaller chain towards the rear is the one that I was trying to figure out. You said it is the auger drive... so the tensioner pushes down on the top of the chain. The bracket to the main drive broke two days ago and since it is cast iron, having a new one made. This is where all the problems arose and now trying to figure out how the chains were situated.
Thanks Larry

In my operators manual both chains are shown in different places. They show up on the lubrication sheets, pg. 22 and 23. They also show up on page 14 and 18.

Hopefully we are talking about the same chains.
