Would it be possible to remove the driven gear from the hydraulic pump and disable the hydraulic system which I will never use. The system leaks and the seal kit costs over $100. Has anyone ever tried this? I have no use for the hydraulic system and no equipment for it to operate. All I use the tractor for is to pull wagon or trailer. I want to paint it up and dress it up without the leaks.

Just remove the pump and the lines going from it. There is a plate to cover the hole where the pump goes. You can make one or i can sell you one.

If you want to take all the hydraulics off, get a cup style soft plug in the closest size to the hole where the pump was, and I don't remember what size it is, it fits a little loose, and glue it in with some silicone, and it will pop right out if you ever put it back together. The whole hydraulic lift unit comes right off, and a little stand to support the fuel tank is easily fabricated. They look like a skinny H, I used my SC this way for a couple years. But yeah, it will also be fine if you just take the gear off.

I have a white C that did not have a hydraulic system. There is just a stamped steel plate covering the hole where the pump goes. I think all C farmalls I have seen in SD and MN have had the touch control systems except for the one I have which came from Canada. The pump runs off the timing gear so if you remove it, it will work fine. If you ever want to add a woods mower or sell it you might want to keep the hydraulic system on it.

The hydraulic pump was an optional accessory. You should be able to remove it completely. I think.

It will make a difference when the time comes to sell the tractor, either for you or your heirs.
