Does anyone have a color photo of a mounted HM-221 cultivator on an H or an M? I tried the photo archives on this site and the Wisconsin Historical Society archives and couldn't find one.

Thanks,

Tony

There is a photo of a 2-row cultivator on an "H" on the cover of Guy Fay's Data Book. I don't know if it will serve the purpose, but it's a nice photo.

I have a pic of my Grandpas M with the cultivators on it, but it is black and white. Pic just shows the front of tractor. I don't have a scanner, but if you can't find another we can think of something. I am in Indiana.

Thanks Bob,

I was hoping to get a color photo so I can see how to paint the one I am restoring. I have a McCormick Deering HM-221 that is NOS (New Old Stock), but it is still rusty and some of the parts have lost all the paint from sitting in a barn for 60 years (left over from an old dealership). I am going to try to post a question about color scheme on the implement forum and see if Hugh MacKay is lurking...

Thanks for your offer of help, though!

With kind regards,

Tony

That sounds like a heck of a find! I bet you can take off a couple nuts here or there and find paint that has gotton under a washer. Also try cleaning some areas with oxalic acid. The rust may have bled and covered some of the original paint. Might be worh a shot. Good luck.

Hi Bob,

The acid worked on every single piece accept for the gang-width adjustment handles. Can"t figure out why there wasn"t a speck of paint on them!
