So he started to go thrue the plugs ever thing. Well I told him what I did and he said the mag is timed to the engine and the gov is good did you take off the roater and im like yes the other guy did and I did he said thats your problem. I had the lil gear with the mark going down and the roater down. He just turnd them up and he put it all back and sprayd some starting flud in it and said crank on it. Well I did and it just started right up. He turnd aourd and lookd at me and I had the bigest smile ive ever had and he yelld at my mom and his wife that was siting under the tree did you see him light all up lol. He said for not getting run in a year that is a nice runing engine. He askd me did you overhall the carb im like yea and he siad man you did that good you have it just at the right speed. Then he got on the tractor and took it aroud the yard and said we will need to work on the cluch and just some other lil stuff. And I had the wrong spark plug wires I did not know I needed one with wire not the newer stile ones so we had to run back to his shop. Well there is a old barn with 2 old packerds in it there 1956 clipers rare car and ive all ways wanted to know who owns that well there is a big shop with bunch of tractors and stuff. well we turnd to that old bard and shop and I siad you own the old cars he said ya and I just about flipd lol. So he showd me the cars and in side the old barn he has a Famall A and a 2 Cubs. Well out in the yard he has a famall H and one more A then all kinds of old stuff with a fast hitch for fallalls. Well he went into the big shop he has 13 cubs one super A and a JD L. There was 5 all ready for paint all new IH nuts and bolts. He takes ever thing off and starts with all new but when he is done man there good. He has all kinds of stuff its like wallmart. Any ways we came back with some old wires for me. But now im all ready to go I just need to cleen the gas tank out and get it primd. It is all ready sanded down. I have new screen for the fuel bowl. But thats the long update on the cub just wanted to tell ever one thanks.

I agree with jal-SD, you should go and just hang around with this gentlemen and help him when possible as he will teach you what he has learned in a lifetime of tinkering on these tractors. I wish some of the old men I grew up around were still here to call on sometimes.

I hope thay work on my tractor lol. But ever year this town has a thing calld folk fest. Well there is a big parade with bunch of old cars and truck im all ways in one of them. Horses cows you name it lol well no gay people at lest I hope not lol. But there is no tractors well me and bill and one more guy are trying to get more tractors than horses for once. And we are thinking about try to have a lil tractor show. Ever year the car club im in has a car show. Well this year we had 101 cars in the show and aobut 20 more was there that did not pay to put there cars in the show. Well I know Ill get some to put tractors in. There is one thing calld other stuff well im going to put mine under that one. There is prizes and all kinds of stuff.

Great! Looks like you may have found a new friend that has lots of experience. Continue to cultivate that friendship and learn from him. Experience is a great teacher & you'll learn more from listening to him that you can ever learn from a book. Good luck with your Cub. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
