I have a '48 S/A with a worksaver 3 point add on. I want to move the blade from the front to the middle of the tractor. This requires mounting the drawbar backwards to the housings.
Does it attach to the forward holes or the rear?
If the rear will I still be able to mount the 3 point arms to the same holes?
Vern

Vern: I'd try fabricating the part Jim has shown you. It shouldn't be a difficult or expensive fabrication. I have drilled quite a few sections of 1/2" or 3/4" plate to match those holes on final drive. when making a plate for that front side I always cut a hole to match the fill plug for final drive oil. Once you install that cross member, very likely you'll never remove it, even if you put blade out front for a spell.

Drawbars and Hitches easily stay tight if one leaves them tight. Personally I wouldn't touch that drawbar or Worksaver hitch, you have it tight.

You could probably mount it by reversing the drawbar and using the rear mounting pads. IH made a "substitute drawbar" that used the front pads. It is item 1 in this figure:

It is part number 650308R3, which is no longer available.

I believe you do have to turn that brawbar around. I am not sure about mounting but I will Find out. I have one that belonged to my grandpa. I have not put it on tractor yet myself. But I will call my dad he has many times since he grew up on this thing

Vern: Are you sure you move the drawbar for this? I must admit I've never had a blade in center, nor have I given them a lot of attention. I say this as I have seen a couple of these and the drawbar was still on back as a drawbar. In fact I did use one such drawbar as a seat once at a show, and I do remember it having the center blade.

I know there were two kits that came with these blades; one for center mount and the other for front mount. I always thought the center mount kit was a cross member that bolted between final drives on the front side, and the blade push beams were hinged to that. I have some photos of this somewhere, however someone will probably have a definate answer before I can find them.
