I have a M&W hand clutch on my M. i use it plowing when i get to the end of the field pull the lever back, raise the plow then push the lever forward to go again.it works good if you need to start and stop often.

SMTA had live Hydro and Live PTO
That tractor had what became the 400 differential trans. It is way different. No Ms or SMs had real Live PTO, and it is not reasonably possible to put on on.
The M&W hand clutch is an accessory which replaced the left differential output pinion/brake shaft, with a disk clutch that allowed the drive line forward of the pinions to remain connected to the engine. This stops the rear axles from turning when tha M&W clutch is disengauged. Thus the power take off, and belly hydraulic pump would still be rotating and usable. The down side is that the transmission was still rotating, and could not be shifted (adequately) while the master (regular) clutch is out (engauged). I hope this explanation works for you. JimN

It disengages the drive to one rear wheel allowing the tractor to stop while the transmission and PTO remain connected to the engine.
Allis Challmers had a similar setup with a clutch on one axle.
At one time Tractor Supply sold a LPTO attachment for the Ford 8N. It was a hydraulicly operated contraption that would lift one rear wheel off the ground to stop the tractor while keeping the PTO operational.

Interesting...I never heard of that gadget to lift one wheel off the ground on the Ford. probably wasn't too popular and that's why I hadn't heard!
