Anyone out there have a 39 or 40 H or M with what they know to be the original mag? Could you pls look up the serial number on the mag and forward to me as well as your engine casting date.

Also do I have it right, the original shutter control rod arm in 39 & early 40 came in two pieces with a built in swivel and hooked into the main tank mount, then changed to a single steel rod when they changed the mounting of the handle to the plate that bolts onto the steering post?

Still looking for detailed pictures too.

Well, You don't want to here this, but when I restored this tractor, I grounded off all the castings smooth and filled in all the holes. The serial # is 42098.

The #"s on the mag I took off my 40 are H4103466, but my block has been changed so those #"s aren"t correct.

Gene, can you get me your tractor serial number, and a casting date off of the transmission cover or a rear axle.
