Hi, Hogman. I have a 1950 M. I had spark problems with. It would get fire to points until you tried to turn it over with starter, then all spark was gone. I like to pulled my hair out over it. As it turmed out The voltage regulator was the culprit. I dont know why or how, but I replaced it and it has worked right ever since. Good Luck.

Had that problem on a 450 once. Found that there was a wire or something in there that when we put the new pionts in would hit the side of the distubutor and short out the points. Look it over real good and make sure nothing touches the sides of the distubutor and make sure the conection from the condenser doesn't sit in deep enough to short it out either

had the same problem with mine. make sure the terminal of the condesnor is properly attached to the screw lug. I somehow bent mine and it was contacting the case of the distributor. I was getting pretty PO'd. It's unlikelly, but if you are opening it up again, doesnt hurt to check it.

You need to check for battery voltage at the coil.
Use a test lite or volt meter and with the points open and the ignition switch on see if there's voltage on the coil's small terminals. Run a piece of 320 wet or dry thru those new points and see if tractor will start. Did it run before the new points and condenser were installed? If it did reinstall the old condenser. Hal
PS: Get those hogs fed.

If the tractor was running before the "tuneup", replace the condenser with the old one. I have seen many bad new condensers. If the old one works, leave it alone. The only reason to change a condenser is because it has failed. This is found when the points last only a few % of the normal service life, and have sevier pitting and metal transfer.
If it was not running before, the coil could be bad. Let us know what happens in either case. JimN
