I have just spent 2 hours reading through the archives about the pros and cons of Amsoil synthetic oil. I was going to try it on the super c after I completed the rebuild and was wanting to hear any comments on it. Anyone currently using it in their Farmall? I am wanting to hear comments from all of you. Patrick

I run Amsoil in everything. It's great it only has to be changed once a year and you get better fuel economy. BREAK IT IN ON REGULAR OIL.

You have nothing to gain in using a synthetic oil in such an application...Your oil should be changed on a regular basis, so the contaminants suspended in the oil are drained also...You have nothing to gain cost-wise..

Wouldn't advise it, just like John M said. Break it in on regular oil then you can put whatever in it. I like synthetics but have NO use for the MLM tactics of amsoil.

Do NOT use synthetic on it until it has had a chance to break in good! Dont fall for the overpriced hype of Amsoil.

My neighbor recently overhauled the engine in his 85 GMC.He has always used Amsoil as long as I have known him, so he put it in when he dropped the engine back in.After only two hours of running, something wasnt right and before he could cut it off it locked up. Amsoil has the engine right now trying to determine where "he" messed up, since they wont admit its not good for a fresh engine and wont allow the rings to seat properly.

I don't use Amsoil, but do use Mobil synthetic fluids. Mobil 1 in my vehicles and Mobil Delvac 1 5w-40 in my '42 Farmall H since overhaul. Change it once a year and it works great.
