Can a Behlen power steering pump be used to install live hydraulics on a Farmall H ?

If so would it provide enough oil pressure per minute to handle power steering and a front end loader, or a three point hitch combo?

A picture of a pump like the one that I am talking about is attached.

I know that it will handle power steering alright, but can it handel other things hooked up to it as well.

Thank You Very Much

That picture is mine. I posted the picture when asking the same question, and, in a nut shell, was told that the power steering pump does not have the capacity for anything more than power steering.

I have a pump like that except mine appears to be longer; perhaps by an inch. Like yours, it has the SAE #2 flanges on both ends. I would also say my ports are larger. It could probably be run with with a priority valve in order to handle PS and remote hydraulics. I don't think your pump is up to the task. I found my pump on eBay but have not installed it on a tractor yet.

That pump is probably 3-5gpm if it is solely for power steering. Most likely it is a low pressure pump, so using it on anything but the power steering is unliklely. You could probably get by with running a 3 point hitch if you dont mind it being ridiculously slow. It would be ok for adjusting the height. Using it for a FEL is out of the question, you would go insane waiting for it to do anything, heh.

Curious as to how that pump mounts. I dont know anything about thise power steering systems, but its location looks like where my distributor is on my 300u. What tractor is that on?

No, the pump will not provide enough flow to be used for anything other than what it was designed for.

Given the size of the hoses, I'm going to say no it won't provide enough GPM to run a loader.

That looks like the exact pump on my fathers International 404 and it is used for the three point.
