Just realized I am missing something on my left hand, my wedding ring. Crap. I worked in the barn fer bout 4 hours, shoveled snow, was pressing new bushings, hauling in wood and such, had gloves on and off all day, all over. Why do I have such an awful feeling in the ol gut, of all things. Valentines round the corner and I gotta convince her bout spending $15,000 on a nother tractor. Yikes. This gonna be ugly.

I agree. I sure do hope that the money is going to buy a tractor for her. Otherwise, I suggest you use it to get an extra bed until she cools down.

I found my fathers ring in the soybean field with a friends medal detector. I was really worried about it, he was helping me & lost it after 40 years!! I found alot of other junk too, pieces of cans, metal, wire, nails, bottle caps. It was cold & took awhile, but I got it back. It's not impossible, need alittle luck!!!

my wife took her ring off about two weeks after we got married and wrapped it in some paper towel and left it on the counter--I picked up the paper towel and then threw it away , took the garbage out and BURNED it in the burning barrel in the back yard---after an lllloooonnngg search of our home I realized what happened and dug around in the barrel and found it -- black but other wise undamaged

I suggest to either go to Radio Shack and buy a metal detector or find someone who has a metal detector and then back track your work. I had a guy call me once, had laid his ring on the fender of his truck when changing the oil out behind the barn. When he finished, closed the hood and drove the truck back to the house. Remembered his ring, and putting it on the fender, but of course it was no longer there. Took the metal detector about 20minutes to find the ring. He didn't even offer me a cup of coffee. I took my ring off about 37yrs ago when I almost lost my finger from jumping off of the tractor and hanging it on the tractor fender. Machinery and jewelry don't mix.....
Good Luck...

Welp, mine got to the point where I couldn't get it off for years, then it started bothering my finger, wife said go to the jewellers and get it cut off, I said heck I can do that, took a pair of sidecutters and cut it off, its in a drawer somewhere in the house, remember its only a symbol of your vows, its living up to the vows that counts

I never had one and wouldn't wear it if i did. I know i would loose a finger sooner or later. My luck would be sooner. Wife never requested me to have one.I also wear a plastic watch band so it will break. It sometimes come apart on its own anyway.

Hi , You're lucky your's comes off ! Mine hasn't been off my finger in over ten years - ever . It's so grown into the fat on my finger it's flush with the surface now . I can't move it more than a 1/16th of an inch in either direction . It won't come off till it's cut off that's for sure . And when it does it's gonna be painful !! I don't envy you ! If your wife is like mine you ain't gettin no new tractor this year if you don't find that thing . I hate jewelry especially rings but I made a vow 20 years ago so I'm sticking to it . The ring was a part of that . Your best bet is to find someone with a metal detector or buy one and start searching . Good luck ! ...Randy

I never wear one. Seen to many people with just 4 fingers because if one. Knew a gal once that worked at an auto parts place and her ring finger wasn't there. Asked her how see lost it she said she had climb up on a self in the store to get a part and had jumped back and the ring hung on a nail and her finger stayed behind also. I also worked at a place where they had a no ring thing because of working with high voltage.

Sounds like a good story, stick to it.

You never know when that ring will show up. I had given mine to my girlfriend in High School and she lost it. Turned up 30 years later at her Grand-Mothers in the flower bed when The Grand-Mothers son was planting new shrubs. I had my initials in it and he put two and two together and gave it back to me.

Lost one in an Ice Maker one time too for a week. Cold weather makes your fingers shrink.

Like John said, look in the gloves first.

Well, no find yet- gloves all empty, oh well, the darned thing was too loose anyway. Ussually I take it off for farm work, but this week has just been busy and I was on the go. Wife was eyeballing me at supper, didnt say anything yet. I did notice she has the box of tampons on her counter side, she aint do for THAT for 2 weeks yet, so I pretty much know what she is gonna be using as an excuse for this week now.
