Plowed snow with the C yesterday. Had to run with the choke partially closed. Temp is around zero here now. Do you all adjust your carburetors in cold weather or do you run with choke closed or should the tractor run ok even in the extreme cold. All of my tractors starve for gas when it's very cold. Dave.

Dave: I looked at your post this morning, after reading gene's post, I thought how much like the problem I was having with my 130 last week. I was having to use the choke more than normal leading up to my tractor quitting. I expect that is around page 10 to 12 by now. My gasket was leaking between the two halves of carb.

The only adjustment on the C is the idle mixture unless you have a dual fuel carb. You dont have to adjust those carbs for cold weather and i been running these tractors for 50 pluss yrs and never adjusted anything. You must have something else bad sparkplugs or a vacuum leak is the oilbath cleaner clear and the oil in the cup ok. Been cold here in IA too. I would try some new plugs.

Thanks guys. I hate to keep readjusting the carb twice a year. I do put a cover over the radiator too, but when it's really cold that doesn't help much. Dave.

I don't get as cold a weather as you have but I have had to adjust the carb on some of them when its cold. Others it doesn't seem to make any differance on give it a try it can't hurt any thing unless you open the main up so far you get black smoke

I never adjust my carbs for cold weather. Usually in cold weather you have leave the choke open some until she warms up. Then once it warms up open the choke all the way.
