I haven't used it, but there are 3 major paint manufacturers of automotive paint, in addition to Valspar (which is probably ok) -- DuPont, PPG, Sherwin Williams/Martin Senour/NAPA. All should be considered about equal, with differences in the underlying primers.

sherwin williams is a very good brand of automotive paint. it is a little less pricey than diamont or dupont and has good results. sherwin williams makes the martin senyour brand that napa sells too.

Sherwin williams owns Martin Senour and their automotive paint is pretty much the same.

Mitch: It's Sherwin Williams, Sherman Williams is a guy in Watford ON. Couldn't pass that up.

They have a good name in wood building paints, I've never heard a lot about them painting steel.

For years I used Sherwin Williams Apoxie to paint my Milk barn walls it was about $100 for a gal. of paint and a gal. of hardener. It didn't stain bad and was very easy to wash off. and would last about 5 years before I had to repaint.
