I need to replace the ring gear on my flywheel as the teeth are ground off. Can this be done without splitting the tractor? Can I get the flywheel out through the clutch housing and liftall cavity? Thanks for any help or tips!

The clutch housing narrows down too much at the starter to get the flywheel out that way. It will have to be split. When you get the flywheel out, check the back side of the ring ger teeth. They can be turned around and re-used if care was taken when they are removed - provided no teeth are completely broken off.

I was afraid of that, but was hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the information. I"ll be tearing her apart this weekend. I really appreciate the information!

Even if it would fit down through the opening, which it won't, that flywheel is much heavier than what you would want to try and hold onto while lying on the ground underneath it.
