Shawn and I took my 16x6 trailer with 4 ft racks and F350 8x8 flatbed with 4 ft racks, loaded both with wood today, and unloaded them. Figures out to be 4 cord, boy I sure feel it right now...:-(

Must be getting old,or should say OLDER!!..:-(

And on top of it all, had a flat on the trailer..:-(

Think I'll take a nap..

Keith, What do you use for wood in your area? I have a friend down near Prineville who cuts the largest juniper I've ever seen. He also looks for tamarack for firewood also. Are you close to Kimberly, Oregon, the land of the world's finest cherries and peaches? Spent a lot of time in Oregon while working 40 years for the airplane company up near Seattle. Nice area and relly enjoyed the out-back Ochoco country, Hal.

Nope Hal, we are 180 miles east of Portland, a couple of mile south of the mighty Columbia river. We had some really good friends that had a large ranch at Kimberly(about100 mi. north),the parents died and there became a big battle over the ranches, the only ones that won were Lawyers!!

usually burn either red fir or tamarack(western Larch) had a chance to get apple wood for just hauling it(Free).

There should be a 365 day season on lawyers with no limit!!!!. Actually offer destroy permits from the state conservation dept. Shoot them and leave them lay.

Not much use for attorneys. They are behind most of our problems.

Anytime I get to feeling too young I just go play a few games of Racquetball with some young punk. That way I can remember my age for about the next 3 or 4 days!

Yep know how your feeling. I fixed my Geo today and my truck and I'm paying big time for it. Plus it got up to a wapping 20 out today. I did have the wood stove going wide open in the shop but all it does is knock the chill a little

Several of my neighbors are well into thier 70's and still farming a living. One squeezes in a 6 mile jog 3 or 4 times a week at 78. I'm gonna trip him this year and slow him down though.
Any of you Missouri folks close to the Fort? I lost track of a couple of folks that I worked with there a while ago.

Take Care,

Dave

Told the shop foreman one day that you should put on enuf clothes to keep warm when you stand around and dont ever miss yur coffee breaks.

Guess I was too hard to get along with. Didnt work at that shop very long.

Keith;

No,he didnt dress any warmer. As I under stand it,this guy and his brother used to work for another contractor and they never missed a break. One fellows reply to working too slow was,"I aint getting paid enuf to work any faster." Then there is this reply. Ifn you dont like this speed you sure aint gonna like the other one."

I finally realized I was getting too old,too slow and too smart to work for some one else.
