Just be sure that the oil holes in the bushing & block are aligned, otherwise it will be starved for oil.

I would replace it at the same time as the rings, sleeves, mains, etc. during a major overhaul.

I got the last one from NAPA, it was made by Clevite, it did not come with the overhaul kit. The machine shop pressed it in for me.

I just replaced the govenor bushing on my Super A during an engine rebuild. You can order it from Carter & Gruenewald @866.327.6255. The PN is: 43439DBR, $32.27. I made a bushing driver on my lathe to remove and install it. Good luck, Greg

I dont know what bearing your talking about ? The govenor has internal thrust bearings. Those should be changed if the govenor is not performing like it should.

The part is seperate from Mains. It has its own part # order from CaseIH, This site, or other supplier. If it measures more than .001 difference at any two locations across its diameter measuring at least 6 diameters in various depths on the bearing, it needs to be replaced. If it has more than .0015 clearance between journal measurement, and the largst of the above measurements it needs to be replaced. The IH specs may be different, these are what I do. JimN
