I"ve got a 47 AI that smokes a bit. Blue smoke, obviously oil. I"ve got it isolated to the rearmost cylinder (only one with wet fouled plug.) Only clears up a little when warmed up and made to work hard.

The thing is, it runs very strong. You"d never know anything was wrong. When I bought it, she had new rings put in and the head was machined. I"m thinking I"ve got a leaky valve guide. Any thoughts from anyone on where to start?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It sounds like a valve guide is gone to me espically if the others clear up after its warm. that sounds like how my A is it smokes for a couple of sec's then it clears up. Does it consume alot of oil? if it does not and holds oil pressure then I would not worrie about it to much.

Andrew
