Hello all;

I am doing some work on my I-4, and will be getting to the brakes, as they do not work (hopefully just a cleaning and adjustment will do it). If they need replacing, can I find new bands? The catalogs only show brake bands for the H, are the similiar? Thank you for the help.

-Mike

I think they are the same as H. Local heavy equipment repair may be able to reline them. Common type of band brake used on sonstruction winches and cable operated cranes. Check prices of new and compare. Leaking seals may be a cause of failure, if leaking, stub shaft seals need to be replaced. A book is needed to avoid breaking parts!! JimN
