Is red the correct factory color( Super M tractor ) for the radiator ? Should new wiring harness be installed and painted or installed later and not painted? Any other paint details appreciated from some of you experienced restorers out there.

Saw a picture recently at Wisconsin Historical site of Ms or Super Ms in paint booth they were painting chassis including radiator before hood and grille were put on. Sure that they may have done it other ways at other times.

It's mostly a matter of personal preference as to what you want to do. To restore it as original means to put it all together and slobber red paint on it. To make it your own, you pick and choose what you want to see painted.

The radiators were painted black at the radiator factory. They were installed on the tractor, the rest of the sheet metal was installed, and then the entire tractor was painted red. During the painting process, some red paint did end up on the radiator.

I think the radiators came red from the factory. On all letter series. So far I have not seen one that is painted a different color. About the wiring harness I would paint the tractor then wire it all up. Also your belt for your water pump and generator do not paint. If you have any hoses do not paint them either. Looks a lot nicer when they are not painted.
