Like I tell my buddies, I quit farming once before and I can do it again. I have fed big round hay bales in the same lot for like 7 years and NEVER left big ruts or got anywhere near hung up and could mow in the hay storage lot in the spring BUTTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TTTTT TT

NOT THIS YEAR Its the mudiiest wettest softest mess Ive ever seen, rain all fall n winter and the ground NEVER FREEZES. I guees its wayyyyy y cheaper on my heat bill however. I just got done feeding and come purt near burying my AC D 15 and if it werent for the tire fliud n wheel weights and other weights I hung all over it this fall I would have had to doze it in a ditch where it sat. I was thinkin it was gonna take my buddys Four Hundred and Two - Zero Model JD Tractor with dual to pull me out and that would have been awfulllll lll embarassing to have to go n ask.

Told the 'first wife" Ima gonna sell some cows next week cuz Im also runnin short on hay cuz its too wet n muddy n soft to ever use the bale ring so theyre wastin half the hay (I hate cows). A trip to Florida Flywheelers next month may lift my spirits and by golly next year God willin Im heading south n staying half the winter.

I feel better now after rantin n ravin lol

Yall take care n God Bless

Ol John T and all (a lil frustrated)

John T...Now, just take a looooo ooooo oooong, deeeee eeeee p breath, my friend, and relax a minute. I"m sure I"m talking for a lot of YTers when I say we don"t want you to disappear into that Sunshine State for tooooo ooooo long, cause how would we ever get our tough electrical questions answered? You"re a heck of a help here, you know? It"s OK to go for even a month or two, but then I knooooo ooow you"d end up gettin" tired of all those snowbirds and missin" your hoosier and other friends. And you"d miss all those midwestern weather surprises too.

Sunshine most every day can be booooo ooringgg.

When you go the that Flywheelers gig, keep your eye open for my friend. Bobby Jones. He and his wife, Chris, will be down there. They"ll probably be hanging around something GREEN. Tell them I said you should say hi. Bobby has been down near Haines City since Thanksgiving, first time he"s done that. He can probably fill you in on the pros and cons of Florida!

David

I had a neighbor in West central Ohio that had that same issue. He got mad and scraped the topsoil away from a strip to and from his bunker, then put in 12 yards of ABC raod base. He was happy because he did not need to drag bales any more. At some point we all need to backoff some. Maybe two bovine and the bunker close to the fence. JimN

John T,

Was talking to Dad there in Martinsville and his take was that the White River was bigger quicker than he'd seen in in a long time. Said it was all over everything! I remember when we were farming (1948-1962) that it would occasionally get up but here lately its been a really fast and recurring event! Hang in there--hope all is going well! Haven't kept in touch like I should--guilty as charged!!

Strangest winter I've seen-went from 70 down to 20 in one day then to -10 a week later, (highs without wind). Usual snow in Oct waited till late Dec. Here it is last half of Jan still 20 and a few geese and ducks showed up yesterday. Saw a posted pix on here re early spring and winter isn't usually over here until late Feb or early March. Salted roads still have ice in the morning. Roses never set back and probably got frozen, dunno what else but worried about some of the fruit trees that still had green leaves at XMAS.

Sounds like you need duals on the back and extra wide fronts on it. Yep BTDT and yep its no fun when you sink up to the axles in mud and have a bale up front when you do so. I've done it more the once on a TD-6 I had years ago and believe me its no fun tring to get a track machine out of mud once it sinks down to the top of the tracks. You can have all the ice I have at least then you would stay on top of things. LOL. You might not go where you want to but you wouldn't sink in.

I dont think this warm winter has been good for any of us (except olds and them, they could have saved some of that for us!!).
I want snow so I can do some plowing and play with the 300u. I also want some snow because its too crappy to do much of aanything else.

You can take all the snow we have, BUT you can't have it unless you also take ALL and I do mean ALL the ice with it. Its been not fun down here but at least I don't have the problem John-T has and the tractor stays on top of the stuff not sinking in like hes doing. Maybe he needs my Case 930 with the 23.1X26 rear tires on it. With them wide tires on it it seems to stay on top of any thing I have drove it on so far but I haven't drove it much
