my h and m row crops stand tall and proud. my w-9 standard looks like a fat baby in tight diapers. the w's were for heavy drawbar work, and belt work. the row crops were much more nible for cultivating.

With the IH tractors, the wheatland/standard usually shared an engine and transmission with the row crop model. There was a difference in final drive ratio for some, along with a different tire size (front and rear). Tread width on the standard tractors was not adjustable. They also had different fenders and tinwork, different controls and seat mount.

dan, the wheatland tractors are for use as tillage only. many of them don't have pto and 3 point for that reason. also most have different platforms and fenders, this would be because of dirt conditions due to field work type conditions. the row crop models would be more universal built to handle all uses.

Mainly mechanical. Row-crops have adjustable tread width on the rear and either a narrow or adjustable-width front end. Wheatland or "Standard" tread tractors don't generally have the splined rear axle shafts that let ya slide the rears in and out, and they always have a fixed-width wide front end. There's other differences too, but these are the basics.

On the tractor photos there is an IH W4 and a IH H same size engine but difference in stature.
