I need the Hyd. diagram on a IH 300U. Trying to hookup a wood spliter.

I only have one controll valve for the two point lift. My log spliter has its own valve, so all I need is a supply and return.

Probably the best thing for you to do is to tie into the hoses going to your hitch (you could use some standard quick-connects to switch between the cylinder on your hitch and the connections to the log splitter). Then all you should have to do is to tie the tractor's control valve handle in the up position, and you should have the hydraulic pressure you need assuming your splitter's control valve is a standard, open-center design.

Good luck.

Jim is right, the valves are stackable and seal with orings. Alot depends on how many valves you have, if they are used, if they are setup for 2 way... more info would be helpful or pictures...

Assuming it has 3 valves on it now, on the right side of the seat. (or places valves could be) purchase a IH valve that is a pass through valve (inner style) and put it on. Connect to the cylinder ports and you are done. If it has no valves it will have plates over the ports for valves and a single (outer) valve will be needed. If it has no valves, it is possible to thread the ports in the block and connect hoses there so a remote valve, or quick disconnects could be used. It would need supply and return to keep it happy. I do not have the diagram, it is 900 miles away. JimN

Afraid I have to disagree with Jim a bit on this. The 300U (and probably the other hundred-series models as well) have an unusual hydraulic system different from the typical "open-center" and "closed-center" varieties. The 300U's system actually has THREE ports to worry about: supply, return, and control.

The most straightforward way to adapt to a generic logsplitter is to come off of one of the original IH control valves on the tractor. If the splitter includes an open-center control valve to select among forward, reverse, and idle, it will be necessary to tie that control valve handle on the tractor into one of its "on" positions to supply hydraulic pressure to the splitter's control valve via two hoses (supply and return). The IH control valve will take care of the control line in this case.

I suppose it's remotely possible to do the tapping into the hydraulic reservoir block that Jim talks about, but you'd also have to tap the block to pick up the control port as well, and then tee it into the return line. This would get the pump to supply high-pressure hydraulic fluid to the splitter (through supply and return hoses hooked up to the other two ports) as well as keeping hydralic fluid from flowing out of the open conyrol port all over everything. This approach would be a kludge at best, and I'd strongly recommend avoiding it.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
