I went to look at a M at a car lot this morning and while there I noticed a Oliver tractor carcass off to the side . I think it was a rc60 or 70 but don't know for sure . It had a belly pump mounted off to the side hanging on the rear of the left axle housing and run by a chain from the pto . I thought that was a nifty idea . ...Randy

Hi Rusty , Well first off I really don't know those Olivers very well . I made one pass around it . The side tin was the open type with the slope from the hood ,The tractor was short that's why I thought it was a 60 or 70 but could be the supers also , it looked OK but like I say I wasn't looking that close . It only had a half rotted off right rim on it , a left rim and rubber which I didn't pay any attention to , one front hub and wheel that wasn't in that good of shape , The exhaust was left open and I looked down in it and it was full of snow and ice and the front was cracked wide open on the exhaust . It didn't have the grill . It might have a couple usable parts but that would be it . Sorry I just didn't look that closely at it . It's an hour from me but after the snow melts on the road sometime on a weekend I can go back and get pictures if you want me to . There was a nice looking F14 there though I didn't even go over to that one . It was on all steel . Steel wheeled tractors don't interest me . There were two wd45's there in their work cloths , a little ford , a SH , a H , a M , a couple I couldn't ID and a 656 with a all hydraulic loader that I wish I could afford . Let me know what he needs and I can get in touch with a couple of junkyards around here . I only have Saturday mornings to go junkyard browsing so I can only hit one a week and then only for a couple of hours since they are all about an hour from me . You should still have my email . ...Randy

He is needing a complete engine for an Oliver RC 60. O.K. if it needs rebuilt, but the one you looked at sounds like it is too far gone to be much good for anything but scrap.

seen alot of weird things done by yankee know how, but when i see chain drives off of pto`s i just shivvvvver, Hope it has a good shield on it,solidly mounted ! in my book chains and pto`s are the worst case scenerio for a disaster just waiting to happen. unshielded pto shafts are bad enough. had a mennonite farmer 2 farms down from me 3 yrs ago. get wrapped up in a chain drive assembly on a pto, he left behind a wife and 6 kids. the local volunteer fire company responded and went back to the trucks ,they had to call in a special team to come in shut off the tractor and bag the poor man up.

I know what you mean Randy, I saw a guy that had the transfer case from a 4 wheel drive pickup mounted on the back of an oliver to run a snow blower out the front. When he showed me how it worked I didn't feel safe until I got a mile away from it. PUTTER
