Hey guys! I’m still waiting for the F20 to arrive, but I’ve been reading up. Question: What in the world is a “duckbill” in Farmall speak?

Thanks,

Scott in SC

The difference between a duckbill tractor, and a "standard" tractor is the shape of the cover on top of the pedastool covering the steering gears. This picture shows a normal pedastool cover, which is more of a dome shape

And this one shows a duckbill where the covers angles down from the top in the back to the bottom in the front. Also the shaft from the steering wheel ends near the rear of the cover, rather than the front.

Regarding the term "duckbill", it has to do with the shape of the steering gear out in front of the radiator. Maybe someone will have pictures to compare the duckbill with later models.
