Just a point to look at on the gasket--there are two that fit the engine correctly, one has large water passage cutouts that match the head and block, (the one you want), the other has smaller holes, (the one you DON'T want),---why-because the stock B does not have a water pump and the Thermosiphon cooling will NOT work properly with the wrong head gasket!!

Yes, and don't forget to re-torque it after it warms up too.

Copper coat is a good product. If the dealer recommended it, you should use it.

Dave it might sound silly, but plain aluminum spray paint on both sides allowed to dry until tacky works as good as anything. I was tought this by my high school Vo Ag teacher and, I have used this for 25 years never any problem at all.

Berry, my only issue with spray paint is the fact that from product to product there is no consistancy. The result may be OK, or it might have organic material in it that decomoses at 275 degrees. That is why I recommend Copper Coat. JimN

Jim I am not saying it is better, I am saying this works, and it works good. I have farmed and built houses all my life and the books are not always right. THis is just a suggestion from a old shade tree fixit man.

Spray Copper Coat goes on all mine (unless directed by specific instructions not to). JimN
