I have the lift for the 134 cult you are talking about. Just elongate the top hole so the shaft assy can be rotated back to cleat the starter. Mite need to enlarge both holes to move it back. The cult doesent weigh that much so removing part wouldnt be no big deal. Are you sure the plates arent on backward as i could see that happening.

yes because the brackets need to be positioned so the bar is behind the starter. you didnt say which lift assy you have does it have the two levers or just the one that lifts the cult. the early 134 cult mounted on the steering post and the rear was back by the seat and only had one lever. later 138 the lever assy mounted different and had two levers. you must have the one lever assy and betcha the two plates are backward good luck

Yes, there are two. One style used in 1939 and part of 1940 which as you have found only works on non starter tractors. I saw a lift on EBAY one time that had been notched to clear the starter. I'm not sure I'd do that for fear it'd weaken it but it's your tractor. It did still have better than half the material left so Maybe it'd be ok.

Mike

Only one hand lift that I know of. It will come close to the starter but should clear if everything is put together correctly. Are you sure you have the correct starter? Sorry no pics. Dave.
