Someone asked this further down, but I'll ask it outright:

Why do you think you need to tear into it?

FYI, some gear whine is normal on a Cub. It has straight cut gears. Heavier gear lube will help, but even if everything is new, there will be some gear whine, especially in 1st and reverse.

It's ALL at this link:

You'll have to "cut and paste" it into your browser, as it can't be posted here as a "hot link".

www.caseih.com has the parts manuals online. Detailed diagrams for every part on the tractor. A printed parts manual would be a great help for you also. Your Case-IH dealer or Binder Books has them.

Anyone with a goos set of tools can do the tranny on a cub. The cub is small, so you don't need much heavy lifting stuff. I do think though that you need a parts catalog and a service manual. The cub is pretty simple. Also wonder what problem is there that makes you want to tear into it.
